Jennifer Tyson – Executive DirectorMy name is Jennifer Tyson. Not only am I a founding member of Primavera, I am also the Executive Director. I feel so privileged and grateful to have witnessed the growth of this community over the past nine years. It has been a labor of love for all of us, and I’m so happy to be on this team. The staff at Primavera is wonderful, and it has been an incredible gift to have them share not only in my daily life, but also—and especially—in the lives of my children. My love for education began as a child, witnessing my mother teaching second grade, and later becoming an Elementary school principal. My dad was a chaplain in the Army, and still serves the military by running a spiritual retreat center in Lampasas, Texas. I experienced many cultures growing up, as well as many schools. I had the great pleasure of not only living all over the United States, but also spending four years in Germany, where I attended an International Baccalaureate high school in Frankfurt. I started my college life at Mount Vernon College in Washington, D.C. as a Woman’s Studies major, and graduated from St. Edward’s University with a degree in Psychology. I never lost my love for learning, and I feel very grateful for all of my life experiences, which have definitely had an impact on what Primavera has become. I was raised to truly value the importance of community, and I wanted to create a school where not only were the children nurtured and adored, but so were the parents! I see Primavera as an extension of one’s own family, and I feel honored we get to be involved in helping parents raise their children. I’m so proud to be part of Primavera. I love not only working here, but also being directly involved as a parent. I am the proud mother to three boys: Creighton (16), Sawyer (11), and Finn (4). They are my pride and joy and I have had an incredible time raising the younger two in this loving, supportive community.
